Selling up with broken hearts
« on: July 09, 2013, 02:34:23 pm »

North Cumbria.

We are selling up, as the better half's disability is getting worse.

Free to a good home; 2 lambs, probably Herdwick or crosses, born March, hand raised, totally naive and unbelievably friendly, even though they are now out in the field. A very special home is needed, so unless you are prepared to adore them and give them long, safe healthy lives, please dont even ask!

British Lop pigs: 2 sows, one with 10 piglets born this week, both aged 2. One is a prize winner, both very good mums. They have lived out happily during the nicer months, are totally placid and easy to handle. Prices negotiable.

Chickens: Scotts Greys, Cream legbars (4 hens, 1 cock), small number of marans (3 hens I think, and 1 cock) and some that could be plymouth rocks. Prices negotiable.

Cattle: 2 pedigree Shetlands thought to be in calf to a limmy, aged 2. One shetland cross, aged 4 with belgian blue heifer calf at foot, reliable calver. Excellent smallholders cows, cheap to keep.

Coloured pony, around 14:2, approx 2 years old, gelding, believed to be a TBxcob. Halterbroken, cheerful and likes jumping! £400 ono.

Loads of stuff:
Petrol chaff cutter, straw cutter - save on bedding and buying chaff!
Flat bed trailer, small enough to be pulled by a car, big enough to get 2 large bales on. Single axle, new brakes, serviced then put in storage.
Pig arcs/sheep shelters/wood stores 4x8 upright sides, curved roof, all metal on metal frame - multiple uses!
Chicken coops, hardly used, 2 with 2 layer boxes, 2 larger with 3 boxes, ramps and doors. Will be disinfected.
Small high sided trailer - good for quad, car. Removable roof, takes sheep, pigs, feed. With ramp and rubber floor.
Garden tractor and trailer. Trailer can be used as wheel barrow or trailer. Tractor has cutting deck removed and needs attention.
Feeders, buckets, polypipe, fencing units, batteries, tape, posts, electric netting all to go when the animals have gone.

If anyone has a cure for broken hearts and dreams, please share!  :'(
Also if you cant pay, dont ask - that is directed at the person who still hasn't paid us for stock.

So sorry this is happening.  I know if it were me, having to part with my beloved stock, I too, would be heartbroken.  Hopefully, all the animals will find caring homes, and knowing that will make things easier for you.

Have sent you a PM

Hi there - would be interested in the animal housing, fencing and electric items.  Do you have any pics of anything?  My email is donnadean8@gmail.com if that helps.

We could hang on until livestock has gone no problem - in fact that would suit better as I am on school hols in a couple of weeks.

And of course, am very sorry to hear your sad news.
