We dont own our place, sorry about that!

Oh, it was just a thought for yourselves to be able to keep a hand in the smallholding life and see your livestock. A slower move than giving up completely. Somebody local to you may have taken it on with your input.
I so feel for you both and wish you the best of luck for the future

Yes still have the straw chopper.

I paid about £400 for it, second hand.

It works really well - a co-operative would certainly get the use out of it.

I am also happy to put the cows/chickens and pigs out on loan, if anyone is interested.

Good that your lambs have gone to a good home.  Its such a horrible situation to be in, and I really feel for you.  I have some favourites among my animals, and parting with them would be especially hard.  Do hope it all works out for you, and you are able to move on and be happy wherever you move to.

Thanks Roxy, and at least they are staying within the forum, with nice people who I trust.

Its the affectionate animals that are the nightmare - I get the impression the cows dont give a damn.
Pigs and lambs, being affectionate by nature, are a nightmare!
I hand reared most of the chickens too, and some still come and sit on my feet at feed time... and I had a cockeral that sat on my arm like a hawk whilst I walked around.
I'm starting to think it might be me that encourages these eccentricities!

Hi Caroline,

I'd be interested in your Scots Greys for breeding, either to buy or loan.
