Little field shelter wanted
« on: May 23, 2013, 01:39:24 pm »
Some years ago, I bought a second hand field shelter.  Lady had used it for pigs, but I think it was really for sheep or goats.  Its wooden, with a metal surround, very strong, but easy enough to move.  Think its 8ft long by 4ft high, and has a galvanised green roof.  She did tell me where she got it from when new, but I have forgotten.  Think it may have been the Midlands or even further South.

I have used this for goats and the sheep - has a gate on at present and is home to two goats.  Would love to get another one - its a long shot, but does anyone on here know who may have made it?!!

I am hoping someone on here will come up with the name of the firm who make them :)

Sorry Roxy I can't help but am watching this with interest as I want a field shelter for my sheep too.
Life is like a bowl of cherries, mostly yummy but some dodgy bits

I suppose a new one will cost me a lot more than I paid for the one I have - but its been great.  Withstood massive snow drifts this past winter, and also torrential winds that ripped some field shelters nearby up, and chucked them over the road and into another field.  My little shelter has stayed put (maybe cos its quite low?)Never anchored it down.

my sheeps arrive tomorrow :excited: one of my wish list items was a field shelter... money went elsewhere.... I use stock fencing and an old tarpaulin.  Mind you, I'm in sunny Essex and not the frozen Norf ;)
