Can someone please clarify for me whether our lambs need 2 doses of heptavac. the ewes were given their boosters prior to lambing, the subsequent lambs had a dose at 4wks, do we give them a 2nd dose after 4 wks?have read the bumf but I'm obviously a bit dim  .

'Fraid so, always two doses the first year.

With Covexin-8 they used to suggest you could give lambs just one dose if you did it at a few weeks, the maternal antibodies acting as the first dose.  However I think even they now recommend two doses for lambs, irrespective of the maternal status.

Thanks for that, I did wonder if the immunity from the ewe counted as 1st dose. Oh well  now know what our bank holiday activities are!!
