Rustyme... off the subject a little but I know those places you have lived as my mums was brought up around North Wales and her dads family moved from the Lothians, Scotland to open a mine in Ruaben (sorry about the spelling) one of my uncles was such a charactor and very well known, he lived near Abersoch and when me and my partner went a few years ago, locals came from everywhere to talk to me about him.....he was call James Pryde, his youngest son, my cousin now lives in Glasgow....James used to be a fisherman and tell stories etc Just asking as another relation brought up in Glasgow was very similar, he wrote a book, m y partner lent it to a college in Glasgow and his mate new him well as he too was very well known...just woundering and rambeling...now back to the thread...sorry!!!

really boring :
 lived in a little village called pollington on a farm with my grandparents
 moved to germany (dad in army)
 moved to a town called Goole (in east yorkshire)
 where i still live now 35 years later (ony 37 now)
 my house now hasent even got a garden but parents live near and have an allotment where i keep my chickens all 55 of them mostly layers but ust getting into breading so now have polans,silkies,bramahs and pheasants(golden)

Hello Sandy,
               Abersoch and Ruabon are way up north from me , I have never been to either of them . There were characters like your uncles etc round here , but they seem to have mainly dissappeared nowdays . Even here there are many new people moving in and out of the area . Ten years ago you would know most of the people you saw in the village or even passing in cars , that is so totally different now . Before you would know 9 out of 10, now it is completely the reverse 1 out of 10 . All very different indeed.

Not surprised, just a remote chance. I have family in llay, wrexham and Llangolland and so use totravel all over North Wales, I loved it, my uncle died a few years ago, he lived on the llyn penisular and regularly rescued fallen sheep from "Hells Mouth"
