But is he... a bit convenient so close to having to perform 50 concerts that the worlds media never thought he could deliver?

Hiya all a bit controversity here,

But i would not call him a king (sorry)

Thousands of people die each day but they don't hit the news.

I just get fed up with publicity of famous peoples death as they get blown out of all proportions (they are only human after all).

(btw i am not picking on anyone just showing my opinion of the topic)

He'll not be missed by me - and in this case, i can't even say i feel sorry for the kids left behind.  :o

MJ probably epitomises, more than anyone else on the planet, what is wrong with the modern cult of celebrity

Abusive parents pushing their kids into the limelight, destroying any natural childhood, living life in public - the highs and lows, does he really have any privacy? any close friends he can trust? everyone is a hanger on - can you even say he was able to enjoy the creative process? instead being forced into meeting the demands of record company contracts, tours, all the hangers on wanting their slice of the $$$$ made on the back of him

the money men want their pound of flesh and they will have it - even if it kills you.

What's the difference between Michael Jackson and Sir Alex Ferguson?

Ferguson might play Giggs in August.    ;D

It is always sad when anybody dies, but why all the fuss on tv over MJ ? what did he do ? he wrote a few good songs ....big deal . Every week that goes by we hear of another young soldier killed in Afghanistan , that takes up about 30 seconds maybe? we never hear about the dozens that have their legs blown off or their arms, or all of them , or those blinded , left as a vegetable for the rest of their life?  The media wants to get their priorities in order . He was just a bit younger than me , and if I had been bringing all the local little boys into my bedroom for a 'sleep over' ? I would be typing this from prison and I would be on the register for perverts when I came out, no question or doubt about it . So like I say it is always sad when someone dies , but am I sorry for him , NO, will I miss him , NO, is it a big loss for the world NO NO NO . Just my opinion folks ....and anyone who does miss him or whatever , fine no probs.. thats your opinion..... ::) Bring back Gary Glitter....come on ,come on , do you want to be in my gang !!!!! my gang, my gang  ?  errr I'll give that a miss too... :o ;D

cheers

One thing I would disagree on, due to media etc Micheal Jackson has had an effect on people, love him, hate him or indifferent, the other people who die every day are not known by so many people so therefore do not effect so many, defiantly not better or worse people just people who have fewer facebook friends (wops thats me!) He would also have had some influence on things like fashion, plastic surgery, child care/or not, music, dance etc and may have given inspiration to some people who, if he had not ever been famous would possibly have not been inspired. The strange thing is, like adverts, not all the good ones have the most influence on you ;)

yes.. or make so much money for the media men ....
but why is it that someone who is a paedophile or has hundreds of pornographic pictures of kids on a pc is hounded and vilified ( rightly so ) yet MJ can get away with it, because he has talent ??? on that basis it is ok to be a pervert if you have talent or loads of money to buy off your victims, aka MJ paying one 11 year old (I think ?) victim 20 million dollars to keep their mouth shut  !!!! It makes me puke to hear all the peeps on the tv saying lets hope he is remembered for his talent and not the court case ....well I say lets hope all the victims feel the same ..? and there was more than one who's' silence was bought .!!! Why ? if he did nothing wrong ????  Hope that doesn't read like I am having a dig Sandy , I am not.... just putting my view forward , how it appears to me .....

cheers

Oops...CarraghsBorderCollies...looks like your on your own with this one...personally I thought he was only as good as the media made him out to be...talented?...take away the technical showmanship, gizmo's and weird lifestyle and I doubt he would have survived past the early years. All the media coverage just makes me turn off...I don't think the world will miss him...but maybe the media world might!

Not a fan, sorry
