which breed

I am wondering what people think i should choose. I was definitely going to buy 3 simmental heifers but saw some belted galloways which i though looked great but i don't know which one i like more. There is a massive difference in price in that a registered belted galloway yearling heifer costs 1,500 and a registered  18 month old heifer that would be suitable for showing coming from a very good mother and father would cost 3,000. I am looking or something to bring around shows and hav calves that can be brought around shows. which breed do people here think would be best.

Hello,

I'd recommend Irish Moiled. They're a rare breed, they taste lovely and the Irish Govt. (as far as I know) give you a grant to keep one (I think it's €300pa but don't quote me). A very good one won't be cheap but that's the same for most pedigree cattle.

Cheers
