Showing pygmies is not quite as intensive as milking goats, but the Royal Highland is a 4 day event. As far as I know goats have to be in on Sunday night and go home on Thursday? So you will need to be there every day and feed, water, etc etc. One of the days the actual judging is happeneing, the other days it's just visitors looking at them. You can probably bath them there, but a light material coat would come in useful. A normal collar is enough, I have only ever seen people use a head collar on large males.
You have to bring our own hay and feed, hayrack/feed bowls/water buckets (and holders if you use them), plus grooming equipment/shampoo.
Have you got any registered GG kids/goatlings this summer? There is a good one-day show for young-stock at Belford, just down the road from you. Very low key. No pygmies there though.
