Free Heptovac P / North Dorset / Vaccinating early March
« on: February 17, 2013, 01:51:07 pm »
Hi all,
I only have 9 lambs to vaccinate early March, but have a 25 dose pack ordered from my vets.
I am 6 miles North of sherborne. (I think  :innocent: )
I hate waste, so if anyone is near me and needs upto 16 doses, am happy to adjust my date of vaccinating to suit the other person if only certain dates work.
Steph

Hi
I am in Stourton Caundle, a North Dorset Smallholders Assoc would be fab.  The nearest I have ever found is the Somerset one.
I have Pm'd Bramblecot.  Not sure how many she needs, will pm you Colliewoman if Bramblecot doesn't need much.

Thanks
Steph

Hi Steph - hope all well with you - it would be good if we all knew each other in and around North Dorset!

Hi Fifi
Good to hear from you,  How do we set up this North Dorset Smallholder association then.?
Do we need a website.?
I know there is a Wiltshire & somerset Assocation but I don't have the time or money to travel too far to a meeting etc so if there was something in our area that would be fab.
We could share skills and resources.  The Heptovac is just a small example of how we can pull together and save ourselves some pennies.
I am happy to help with whatever needs doing, but I must be one of the more novice smallholders on this forum so feel a little silly pushing to be the one that starts it up.
Hope the goats are well.

Morning everyone,

I'm ok for heptavac, but just wanted to say I'm in north Dorset too! I live only a few miles from Gillingham. I didn't realise there were a number of us on here!

Hi  ,  I think there are quite a few of us lurking in the shadows :innocent: .

I do understand why folk do not share their location, especially for security.  There is an informal Dorset smallholders group active in West Dorset, but could we set up a sub-group on the Somerset Small holders  Association - maybe based just over the border in Somerset, say around Yeovil/Ilminster?

sorry Steph, have hijacked your thread :eyelashes:

Hijack all you like Bramlecot, its fine with me  .

So what shall we do?  Join the West Dorset group or set up our own?.

If we vote on joining the West Dorset group, does anyone know of a website or contact?.

How about we give a North Dorset group a go - no-one has the time to travel miles (i.e West Dorset!!) - so perhaps we could all meet up early Spring at one member's place and then move around each meeting?  Always good to see other people's set-ups, however big or small.

So I'm in....
