Rubbish morning
« on: November 22, 2012, 10:54:08 am »
:gloomy: It's dark, wet and windy. We have a dead hen. Smokey is lame and Bugsy doesn't look too chipper (Smokey demolished the field gate the other night and Bug spent the night on the grass which is verboten for him). The guy who is supposed to be putting a concrete floor in the field shelter is like the bl**dy Scarlet Pimpernel. The timber merchant left the timber delivery in the access to the barn and I need to get hay delivered, so I'm going out in the p*ssing rain to move the wood.

And I ate the last of the chocolates last night so no solace there.

Oh, and the bank rubbered a cheque. Hate banks.

Now I know in the whole scheme of things, it's not that bad - no-one's shelled Carnoustie overnight (although I think the Army MAY be shelling at the Buddon) - but I'M P*SSED OFF.

And now my tea is cold. Going to move wood. :gloomy:

Feel better now?

It's peeing down her too, and I had plans.  No scent in weather like this so dogs will just pootle about while I get wet.  Even they didn't want to go out for a pee this morning.  But lets just pause and think of the shelling you mention that has stopped (for the moment, but who knows........ ) and the flooding in Englandshire, both of which are causing so much more heartache than you and I are suffering.

Cheer up, Rosie, here's a bunch of flowers for you  :bouquet: :bouquet: :bouquet: :bouquet: :bouquet: :bouquet: :bouquet:
Can't find an icon for a box of chocolates - oh Daaaaaaannnnnnn :innocent: :innocent: :innocent: :innocent:
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

:gloomy: :gloomy: oh no that is all just too much all coming together :-((( and the weather is so crappy too  :raining: :raining:  I suggest an emergency chocs procurement exercise is justified.
And we all know lami prone ponies are like sheep, they are driven to harm themselves, you just have to make best efforts to stop them, which you do  :trophy: :bouquet:

Lots of love and hugs from over the border.  Very windy and attempting to rain here - I think it'll succeed soon, better go and finish my outside work while it's less unpleasant.

Hope the ponies are ok  :horse: :hshoe:
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

I can sypathise with the disapearing trades men (or women) it is a pain to get any work done .....lets hope we do not get a freezing bad winter, at least wet is not so bad!
On the positive side, I felt all cosy and not much to do so I sat in a hot bath, the first I have had for ages and ages and ages!!!! and....I ate our chocolate last night as well but a strong coffee will do the trick for me!!!!
I suppose there are a lot of people far worse off but still, sometimes we just need to let off steam!!

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.

Mind you we probably all have a bit of the blues today due to the weather. :gloomy:

Thank you

Timber all moved (Dan came out and gave me a hand  :-* ), cleared out the barn with one hand while finishing slapping wood preservative on one of the the empty poultry houses. Moved the old rubber matting into the barn and threw down some straw and some Hemcore - the barn is now ready for the ponies to come in tonight.

Bugsy happily eating hay and whickering to me; saw Smokey cantering about the field, bucking and farting.

Phoned Gary, who's just finished a brilliant job on a path and fence in the front garden and he's going to give me a price for the field shelter.

Still gloomy outside but the wild has died down and the rain's gone off a bit. Going out to finish the treating the poultry runs.

Your hugs made me feel better
