I haven't found anywhere round here Colin where decent brambles grow, so we have a patch in our garden of cultivated ones. At the moment they have gone rampant and will have to be attacked in the winter and tamed - they have even started appearing in the tunnel. You are welcome to some rooted runners if you want to start your own patch.......especially if you dig them up yourself

For large quantities I pick them when I am down south, just before the journey home, then boil them up as soon as I get home. They don't travel well but as long as you process them that day they are fine. I did have one batch which had started to ferment by the time I got them home and I made 'tipsy bramble jam' which was particularly delicious
