I've spoken to her - she is unhappy at the way one particular person has treated her on here.  Doubt if he will change. So it may be very difficult to get her back.

Could she just put that person on 'ignore'? and know that the rest of us really value her and would miss her?
Such a shame that anyone should feel so bad  :-\

Karen agrees now that she'd have been better to just use the 'ignore' feature for robert, but being such an open genuine person herself she always believes she can talk him round with sense and facts - and of course it never works.

Ok, I've thought of something may help.

Personally I never thought I would want to use the 'Ignore' feature, but in this case I wonder whether, if we all 'Ignore' the person we'd rather see leave, the one we want to keep would come back...?

I've done it.  Fingers crossed. :fc:

(To ignore someone, click on Profile, then Modify Profile, then Buddies/Ignore list... then Edit Ignore List and add the member you want to ignore to the list.)

I just wonder whether if Karen realises that pretty much everyone whose opinion she values is ignoring him anyway, there'd be no reason for her to not return...

I've just put the offender on my IGNOR list , the first time I've been compelled to use it,
( I'm probably on a few peoples myself )
99% of the things I post are tongue in cheek anyway and not meant to offend anyone,  :fc:   but I think you all are well aware of that. :innocent:

Yes, Tiz - but you use appropriate 'smileys'  Said offender sometimes forgets to use them or uses the wrong ones. ;) ;D

It can be the trouble with online discussions - you don't get people's facial expressions or tone of voice added to the words.

Some folk are quite skilled at conveying a lot of the 'extra' with the smileys, some people have enough issues with typing without trying to do that too.

Some folk have very thin skins, some very thick ones, both in how they express themselves and how they take things - I guess most of us are somewhere in the middle. If it would take a blunderbuss to upset you, maybe you assume other folk are as robust?

Yes, agree with that Jaykay, said as much in the other thread about this.

I try to use the icons, to add a bit of clarity.

Perhaps things have happened that we don't know about and I don't tend to look at some of the sections on here anyway.

Wonder if the people concerned could not have a private chat to clear the air  ???  It is a shame for people to feel so upset that they have to leave. It could be that the other person involved doesn't realise the upset they have caused. You can't always tell on here how people are taking your comments and so can't modify your response.

Karen is the first person I got to know through TAS and I will miss her good sense and emotional support of everyone who needed it, offering reiki and comfort. She has always given so much - and still does in many other areas  :bouquet: .  What a shame we didn't pick up on the fact that she was feeling bullied so we could help her before it came to this  :( .

It's good to see that Karen has the support of lots of us on here.  I hope she will come back once the ruckus has settled

Karen says that Lillian is one of her best friends, but she has had enough of Robert.  Perhaps Lill will be able to sort things out between them.

I've mailed both HH & Lill and maybe a peace can be brokered.
Its not an unuusual situation i detest the wife of one of OH's best friends, she gets up my nose being all superior and that so i stay away if poss and if i have to be around her i'm as cordial as i can be which must really annoy her!
