View from your back door
« on: June 18, 2012, 10:27:31 pm »
As someone suggested  - a new post of pictures taken from the back door.
Actually '' I'll show the house (attached to a long barn with the piggery at the end). Our other barn is out of shot. The hanger ( on the left) is now full of logs.

The second view is from the back door showing some of our veg. The rest is at the front of the house

What a beautifully kept roof...

Great pics - it's nice to have your livestock just outside.

This is the back door but pic taken from chicken run - very handy to have chickens under the bedroom windows for foxy protection and to take pot shots at Magpies with air rifle  ;)

view up hill in sheep's field, to the right of this are 2 goat paddocks. We can see all animals if they come into eyeline of back door - very handy!

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
left of sheep field is nursery paddock where new lambs are raised - and newly shorn sheep try to work out how their jumpers fell off  ;D

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
and finally - the garden where the swings and slides are and where hubby is hard at work mowing the lawn........

I won't be putting pics of my veggie patch on - its shameful  ;)

You just beat me to it!  I would love any of these places.  All I have is a modern bungalow that sits right in the middle of an acre so can't have animals - neighbour immediately behind me and too visible at the front! :'( :'( :'(

One of our neighbours said that living next to us is like a cross between The Waltons and Little house on the Prairie  ;D   will have to get a picture of the girls running down that hill in long skirts and ankle boots  ;)

We have a modern bungalow on 1/3 acre in the middle of a busy town with close neighbours. We have 3 chickens, 2 pigs, 1 miniature horse and a goat! You can squeeze things in, it is harder work as cleaning needs doing 1-2 a day but worth it :)
Miniature Falabella, Pygmy Goat, 2 Glouster Old Spots, 1 Long Island Red, 1 Light Sussex, 1 Dark Sussex, 1 Silkie, 1 Magpie Duck and hopefully some more chicks and ducklings due to hatch soon!

This is the back door

Sorry Plums, this really did make me laugh out loud ... the thread on "the view from the back door" and a picture of "the back door" ... I actually love the picture (and the house) but slightly wide off the mark?! ;)

(please don't take offence :bouquet: )

LOL! never do  ;)   what I meant to put was there was no point taking a picture FROM the backdoor as the hill is  so steep all it would show is a whacking great wall (the one we hope never falls down because its holding the bottom of the hill inside  ;)   )  I am sleep deprived thanks to the usual culprit kicking me in the back all night (yep, Scarlett....)
