Pedro - get well soon :-* :-* .  Whole chicken wing?  That would worry me  :-\ maybe everything in little pieces, easily digested, and with plenty of liquid  :) just a suggestion, not trying to preach as I know how difficult it is to get a sick animal to eat anything  ::) - been there so often...

Just coming from vets. He is not that well. Apparently last night they were really worried about him - why didn't they phone? This morning he was really well first thing but was not mad on food. We boiled some fish for him and took it, but also he was very pleased to see us he would not eat anything. Before he doesn't eat we will not know whether his digestive system will work ok. He got very lethargic and depressed and his gums are very pale. He is also peeing an awful lot and it is quite dark in colour. Will finish doing animals here and then we will go back and try him on some chicken and maybe a scrambled egg. If we only knew what is the cause of it all it would help. So please keep your fingers crossed for our boy.

What pain meds is he home with? Is he sore if you feel his belly and gently push it? Get him back to the vets as could have an infection (common after gut surgery) if his pee is dark he could be dehydrated which will make him feel rubbish. Go bk for a check up just to make sure.

They'll have checked his kidney function?

Sending lots and lots of love and hugs to you all  :-*

Dark urine can be a liver problem as well as a kidney one but you'd have expected the vets to have taken blood and checked for that. The paleness and not wanting to eat, with the dark urine could be haemolytic - but the vets would know that  :-\

Pedro being Pedro just keeps giving us nearly heart failure. Phoned vet first thing this morning - he has eaten some chicken but then sicked it all up a bit later - vet very concerned, all vets having a discussion, more blood taken. We quickly did all the urgent jobs here so we can jump in the car as soon as we can see him. Then vet phoned as it turned out what they thought to be vomit turned out to be a lot of very watery diarrhea and then he also passed a solid poo. However, all this really took it out of him and he is totally exhausted and dehydrated and also has a very high temperature. More blood being taken and we can go this afternoon to visit and bring him a bit more chicken - as long as the trip helps him.

We just went to the vets to take some cooked chicken in for Pedro and were met at the door by the vet with the news that he had died a few minutes before we got there, they are now doing a PM on him to find out what happened. We will let you know the results.
Thank you all for your messages and kind thoughts.
