I have a stock of potato's that we rescued from the field next door.
I want to use these in the competion - but...I dont know what make they
are - How do you go about identifying a spud ? I am a total beginner when
it comes to growing anything
The ones I have re-homed are round, smooth, no rings when cut, very watery, they make great mash.
some of the ones we rescued were a pound in weight 10" long 6" diameter.
soil here is good but not more than 20" deep with a firm clay base.
field previously used for grazing sheep.
