HI JUST WANTED TO INTRODUCE MYSELF.  MY NAME IS KAREN I LIVE IN SMITHVILLE MO. I HAVE 15 CHICKENS AND I LOVE RAISING THEM. I PURCHASED 15 PULLETS AND ONE TURNED OUT TO BE A ROOSTER! NEEDLESS TO SAY HE IS A BUSY GUY! HIS NAME IS CURTIS . HE LIKES ME BUT WHEN MY HUSBAND COMES BY THE PEN THE ROOSTER ATTACKS HIM. IT MUST BE A GUY THING.  ANYWAY, I HOPE I CAN HELP ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS.
I'M NO EXPERT BUT, MY CHICKENS HAVE BEEN AROUND NOW FOR 3YRS AND ARE STILL LAYING AND LIVING.
I HAVE ONLY LOST ONE AND I THINK SHE FLEW AND HIT THE AUTOMATIC FEEDER AND BROKE HER NECK.
I ALSO HAVE 2 MINI SCHNAUZERS JAC AND CODY AND THEY ARE MORE TROUBLE THAN MY GIRLS.
THANK GOD SPRING IS HERE!   :chook: :paw:

Welcome to the forum - gosh you're a long way away, Karen.  What sort of weather do you have year round?  What vegetables can you grow?  TAS is based in Clackmannanshire - The Wee County, in Scotland - but we have members all over the world.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age
