Womble, after the last greenhouse carnage I decided to buy horticultural glass (PLASTIC) to replace the panes with but won't bother for another few weeks yet. I'm just fed up with picking up bits of glass in the veg plot for months after nearly every storm these days....

Sorry to hear of the struggle and trouble the wind is causing for so many. We are fortunate at the moment in West Wales, windy but that is all nothing more. Hope it dies down soon and that not too much more damage done. Heard the news our thoughts are with the family of the man who lost his life.

My daughter in Stirling came in past to make sure I was OK - their greenhouse has lost more than half it's panes and they are in next door's garden, as is half the Silver birch - such a pity it was a lovely tree.  In falling it took down the phone line, so thank goodness for mobiles!  They have just got over a thief breaking their front glass door and stealing all Sarah and Beth's jewellery too - including the matching necklace, bracelet an earrings for her wedding, and Beth's confirmation jewellery.  Boy are they popular with their insurance company.  At least the tree and the greenhouse are replaceable!

Flooded roads here and one of the big windows in the shed has blown out and smashed - haven't been round to the greenhouse yet, too dark, but it survived the last winds so fingers crossed.

Actually they are, it is a beautiful house and is their forever home - Victorian three story, 9 rooms 3 bathrooms and kitchen, with totally enclosed garden, close to centre of Stirling!  Perfect for them - but not for me.

if the last one was bawbag this one was c***    half past eight in the morning  electric of  road blocked with 6 fallen trees leylandi/cappressus   so we cleared a rout through them  two and a half HOURS it took us traffic once again flowing freely until eleven at night a council jcb comes out and pushes the tops of the trees into our field damaging the dyke and fence in the process     the trees brought the phone cable down as well     lillian straight up to the council telling them that will be the last time we clear the road  and to remove the trees as they were not ours the council came out the next day to remove them  cant touch them there is a cable they might damage  WTF it is broken anyway    then they are to big to go on the lorrie    they will arange for the chipper to come out    meanwhile bt wont come out as there are trees stopping them from working
so we went out as a family cut the trees up into manageable pieces and fu**** them back into crusty the clowns after we were finished Lil phones the council there is an obstruction on the road could you move it back they come with the jcb and push the whole lot back into crustys jobs a good one
half past three today we are back on line       no damage to our property other than the tops of two trees

I thought Bawbags came in 2's anyway...we have a fair bit of damage but I am sooo upset by the amount of trees down in the forest, some blown down and some pushed down by the fallen ones, its hard to go into the forest with out comming across fallen trees, a lot of the paths are clear but its sad for the red squirrels that the trees were planted for, poor Scots pine trees down everywhere!!!!!    It was a bit windy lasst night as as the last one took roofs off I worried that things are loosened and will go with less of a storm.......whatever next,  maybe what RObert said...fingers crossed its not going to happen again......OH, is there a reclamation yard in Central Scotland, know one seems to know and we need an old chimney pot!!!!! thanks

Thanks, we do have one in the garden with a shrub twisted in it, we may be able to get it out...the insurance company are being mean......we also are in a conservation area so need to put the same up that fell down...thanks
