I really feel for you - been in exactly the same place as you but mine didn't survive. John fell off Lochnagar, some youngsters up ahead of him knocked a snow cornice down on him and he fell 1000 feet. Survived, was even joking with the helicopter crew, but had massive internal injuries, so had to go on life support. We had a terrible roller coaster for a few days and eventually we had to admit defeat. What I learned was what wonderful people we have in our ITU departments, they all worked so hard, we all prayed so hard, and what magnificent pieces of machinery they operate, and how much they involve the families (if they want to be involved). Sometimes things are just meant to be, and you just have to get on and live life afterwards. Things that happen cannot be 'unhappened' so you must accept them and move on - sometimes to better times but always to different ones I hope you have a good outcome, and I will be thinking of you both, Kaz. I will be here if you want to chat. I have often said since moving down here that I wish John could be here too as he loved hills and mountains so much - but I would never have seen him - he'd have been up there in the Ochils all day every day! Keep your chin up.
