Just finished a plain pair from the same soft wool and now doing a cowl in moss stitch.

No rest for the wicked as the stock in my shops is moving very quickly mainly to the US. I have a good few packages to post on Monday now

Just finished my second pair this evening, ellisr - BH won't wear his, he says they're too nice to get them dirty and stinking of silage!   ::)

My mum had this problem with my Dad-he won't wear things she knits him to work in, in case he spoils them and then they don't get worn at all and she gets upset  :-\

Eggs-actly.  So ... no solution has been found in your family, wonder if ellisr's idea will work...  I'll have three pairs for myself if not!  :D

Well my OH wouldn't wear them as they don't keep his fingers warm and doesn't want any like mine with the little pop over finger cover, so my answer was 'Well freeze'

Will do  :thumbsup:  :wave:  Most likely will be asking for help interpreting - it's been a long time since I used to knit and all I've done so far this time around is the wrist warmers!  Casting on and off seemed to be like riding a bike but I'm not sure I'll remember all the annotations and abbreviations - or even how to do some of the fancier things.  It's exciting getting back into it though! :D
