Sausage week - Barn dance & Bonfire
« on: October 13, 2011, 10:34:11 am »
To celebrate Sausage week 2011, the Scottish Pig Keepers Association are holding a barn dance & bonfire on Saturday 5th of November - this is open to everyone, member or not  :)
The event will be at Woodend Farm, Cowdenbeath, Fife, KY4 8EX, start time 7pm.
We will be having a ceilidh band and pig racing (not with real pigs - but our version is just as entertaining !) Food will be provided and you can look forward to a hog roast and a selection of mouth watering sweet treats. We will also be holding a raffle and if your aim is good you might get lucky in our ‘throw a quid’ at a bottle of whiskey game - closest wins the bottle (and it’s a BIG bottle !)
Tickets cost £8 per person and you are welcome to ‘bring your own booze’ - squash will be available for children.
Please make your payment by Paypal to scottishpigs@gmail.com or by sending a cheque made payable to ‘The Scottish Pig Keepers Association’ to Karen McKay, SPKA secretary, Yonderton Farm, Lesmahagow, Lanark, ML11 0HL - no later than 1st November and please include a note of the names of those attending.
Children under 16 are welcome and there is no charge for under 5’s.

Hope to see you there

Hi, Best of luck with your your Hog roast and bonfire night.
I just wish you were a bit closer to me (North yorkshire)  as our local village Bonfire is no longer, its all about insurance and health and safety- I know its needed, but no more village bonfires in our valley................................ I might have to have my own private one  ;D
Regards

I'm going to stock up on sweet treats on Friday  :yum:
I'm thinking chocolate fudge cake, carrot cake (for the health conscious  ;) :D) and a selection of scones & muffins...... does that not sound worth coming for ?  ;D ;D ;D

Not forgetting a very original entertainment programme (and a wee surprise I'm managing to keep secret  ;))
If you want to come and haven't gotten round to it - just reply on here and pay at the door on Saturday night.
Everyone is welcome and it would be great to have a really good turnout in celebration of the great British banger

See you there

If anyone is struggling with directions - have a look on google earth  ;)
If you type in the postcode KY4 8EX, you'll see Woodend Farm (it's got a marker for AA Skip hire and a dog? for 'Whitehill' next to it, hopefully shouldn't be too difficult to find (although knowing my sense of direction I could be wrong  ::) :D)
Oooh it's getting nearer

Well I had a great time, ate far too much of the delicious hog roast and finally got to meet Happy Hippy, Lill and Robert.

Thanks for the obvious efforts that went into organising it, we'll be back.  :)
