I have loads, but one of them, which came to mind today, is,

"I'm not young enough to know everything"
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Clever  8)

I like 'Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus' - but mostly because I like dragons and I think they deserve a good nights sleep  ;D
"Let's not talk about what we can do, but do what we can"

There is NO planet B - what are YOU doing to save our home?

Do something today that your future self will thank you for - plant a tree

Love your soil - it's the lifeblood of your land.

"On a dry day take your coat, on a wet day please yourself"

"A running hird and a standing drain's nae use" (a shepherd who runs and a drain which does not, is useless)

"Clear yer feet" ( miners saying and basically if they didn't keep their feet clear/exit clear if there was a fall there was less chance of getting out)

"There's wiser things eating grass"

One from Groucho Marx....

Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read!

Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it's a waste of time and annoys the pig

Ah, the version i know says 'don't wrestle with pigs' you'll both get dirty but the pigs will enjoy it'. A comment on getting into argurments with politicians and the like, i think  ;)

'as useful as a chocolate teapot' and 'quick, hire a teenager while they still know everything' come in handy on occasions.

But the one I really like is Roosevelt's 'do what you can, where you are, with what you've got'. I like it because it reminds me to 'get on with it now' rather than wait for x, y and z (me to be thinner, richer and have more free time  :D)

No, more Anne McCaffry - I want to ride my own dragon  ;D

Another Latin one (don't know why they are both in Latin - I failed my Latin O level  ::)):
Semper in excreto solum profundum variat - when my OH was flying Her Majesty's planes around, he had a T shirt with that on and it was wholely appropriate to how often he ended up in the sh*t - still is  ;D

I'll settle for a fire lizard.  It sounds awful cold between.

I actually fell asleep in my Latin O level exam.  In truth, I'd have failed even if I'd stayed awake.  It all started to go wrong when my rabbit ate my homework.  (Truthfully, he really did!  Ok, I had to rub it with a carrot, but he did kind of nibble it a bit.  :D)

Good honest stuff, excretio.  Rather be in that than sleeze any day.  (Couldn't find Latin for sleeze - though I think they did have it back then...)
