I give them unlimited access to layers pellets but they love lettuce and bread. Ofcourse they will get all the bugs from your garden and these ones are water babies - they just love being on the pond.

Ohhhhhh!!! Love the idea of water babies. I made some spaghetti and ricefor my chickens today and gave them some while I had my morning coffee, then my dog ate the rest that I put in the garage. I collect weeds every day while out walking, my chickens love them, my daughter says hers love cut grass, I am REALY looking forard to having them...night night :-*

Today 2 of the ducklings went off to their new home and have settled in beautifully. The 3 Aylesbury ducklings that remain will stay here as I have a soft spot for Aylesbury's.

Annie it was great to actually meet you at long last, hope they didn't make too much mess of your car. Sansy has already e mailed me pictures of Charlie and Lilly and they look to be very settled indeed.

We had a whiff of something on the way back home, James, but when I dropped Sandy off we just took the wee ones round and plopped them in the pond, then I drove home and lifted the newspapers/straw bundle and dumped it in my brown bin - no mess whatsoever! They were settling in before I left. Steve and Sandy now have an instantly rather large family - 2 dogs, 2 ducks and 10 hens!

Morning, I put Lilly and Charlie into a run , one to makesure they had thier share of food and two to show them whre they could go that was safe and dry. The un is plenty big enough for the eening and I put in thier feed, lots of bedding and a washbowl with a brick in of water, I am only going to do this for a few nights then they will know where to go if they want to keep warm. I know DUcks stay o ut in the rain but I was just a bit concerned they were small and may get a bit too chilled!!!!! They are soooooo cute I would love to watch (and cuddle )them all day but I need to do SOME cleaning as well. :&> :&>
