spur damage??
« on: April 29, 2011, 03:15:38 pm »
our youngest has a long wound under one of her wings - could it be caused by the cockerel? She seems fine in herself, eating and drinking and it is not infected and appears to be healing. She takes no nonsense from the other girls (nor me, she bites!) , so I don't really want to seperate her. What  do you all think? :chook: :&>

Wouldn't have thought it was spur damage that far forward - she could have been scrapping with one of the others or just caught herself in the hedge/fence.
As you say, it's not infected & it's healing ok - I wouldn't seperate her, she's been doing fine & it will possibly just stress her.  I'd just keep an eye on her (maybe add some tonic to their water).

Hope she's better soon  :hshoe:

And squirt savlon cream in first to ensure it's bug free. ;)
