Disappointed that today is so grey and damp after it was so nice yesterday. Took the dogs to the beach yesterday afternoon for a run around because it was so nice, but it means today jobs will have to be done in the rain!

Fed and watered goats dogs cats chickens ducks and guinea pigs already. Have made a start on clearing out the kitchen cupboards after getting rid of the mice infestation. Plan to start off the composter this morning, move the wooden guinea pig hutch and clean it up so that the pigs can move in there eventually. Am going to rake over the bare patch in the lawn (because a caravan has sat on it for nearly 2 years but is gone now) and sow some grass seed in so it gets a start. I might even bring myself to make a start on pruning the apple trees.

When the other half surfaces, I want him to make a start on the doggie jumps we are planning to build. Oh and doggie school tonight.

Currently toying with the idea of rounding up some sheep to give them their Heptavac vaccinations. Also need to have a major reorganisation of my shed to make space for my in-lamb ewes. Then I have a stable to muck out if I can summon up the enthusiasm... :-\

On the dog food question, we feed Autarky which has calming herbs and no nasty additives. it does all our four dogs very well but last week we could not get it so my husband bought Chadleys Classic for working dogs. Our staffie cross turned into a complete nutter, a bit like a kid who has been eating sugar stuff all day. he came home with our usual dog food today. When I was teaching I always knew the dogs that were fed Bakers not something I would give to any dog.

If your dog is losing weight but eating well could be a gulten problem. I have seen a few with this.  :)

After a leasurly breakfast session, only two guest, I watched the I Player, then fedd the chickens, put in washing/drying, fed the dogs, hoovered and washed up, I checked all the E Mails selling me stuff, advertising and pills, then had a visitor trying to sell advertising, he looked abit upset as I did not take up the offer, another phone call "giving away a whole security system" just wanted my details for the draw, of course I said know as nothing is free, or so I thought, he was also disgruntled, then I had a nice call, with something free, but this time I took up the offer, a hairdoooooo, so also a trip out. Well after 3 coffees, some biscuits and some cheesy puffs, I am off  to do a little job then take the dogs for a very short walk as I have loads to do here today......so, I have banned myself from the internet, see you all later...Sandy

had wood burner fitted today , which was fantastic news  :), however as the plasterers started again we were told all the render was INCORRECT for our house , so the whole lot is in the process of being pulled off again , so back to bare brick >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( have now demanded a meeting with building manager on Monday and told them to take their incompetent building contractors out of my house , and that i expect him to source a new (and bigger) crew to put us back on track , also had a letter from insurance company saying they will insure us again , but with an excess of £6,500 for any future flood damage unless we can provide evidence of any improvements :-X :-X :-X grrrrrrrrr  all a bunch of complete *?!***?!""%&&$***&^?><<!""$&^(()(&^% 's
Still , you've got to laugh??? :D

Hi all, having a lazy day as it's so wet here in 'sunny' Cornwall. Our Barn holiday let guests left this morning and no more bookings for a fortnight. Since moving here in August we have had mostly lovely weather though, so can't complain. Back to dog food. . . we were feeding our Airedale (gorgeous Max) on Bakers complete and he was fine. Two weeks ago we changed to something called Viking that our trainer (don't laugh, yes, you can train an Airedale, so we are told and he's doing quite well actually!) recommended. No colourings, or additives. Result: dreadful constipation resulting in a visit to the vet on Monday to sort him out (and sedate him to clear him out and bathe him as he was a bit smelly from trying to go. Back on Bakers now and fine so while I'd prefer the no additives, no colouring, I think I'll leave well alone.
