Smallholding mortgage
« on: June 30, 2019, 07:54:45 am »
Hi there, new to this forum, looking for advice, this seems the best place to come. Myself partner and 3 kids have put in a offer for 17 acres, house, an annexe and static caravan, and sheds. We plan to do holiday lets and let of the fishing on the river aswell and run it as a farm, with sheep and cattle, We have gone through everything we need with a broker. Business plans and so on. But getting a mortgage with a 75% LTV is very hard. Has any one suggestion of any other banks or lenders other than charwell funding or B2B??  The property is £327000 and we have £83000 deposit. Any advice would be amazing. Many thanks

Putting "banks specialising in farm mortgages uk" into google gives loads f hits... no idea how they would pan out though. Also worth asking at co's that do insurance since they oten have contacts as do co's that act as farm estate agencies.

If you go on Facebook there are a couple of forums :-
Property Developers' Secrets and Property Owners' Forum.
Join either or both and explain what you want in the way of a mortgage and you will get a whole host of useful answers. There is every conceivable type of mortgage broker on there, able to offer you every conceivable type of mortgage. If you don't get offered something suitable, then it's likely you never will!
