Hi, I am new to this site and I have a question ?
We have a piped natural spring that runs through our garden several years ago it leaked  into our gardens I presume wherever  it was running to got blocked now it runs out into the field at the back of us .
Anyway my question is  , is it possible to find he source of the  spring

None of us seem to know the answer to that question!  Have you found out any more since?
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Hello Bunblebud, Welcome to the group.
Just wondering why you need to find the source of the spring?
If you can work out the general direction of the pipe, you should be able to follow it, using a thin metal rod prodding through the soil,
to find out where it's blocked, should it be feeding a water trough somewhere?
Someone may have water rights on it.

Just a thought, you may be better redoing your intro with a bit about yourself, and putting the water question under land management in the forum?  :)

the simple answer is yes you can find the spring by following the flow of water. this is a process called water devining and many older farmers will be able to show you the basic principles. the simplest way is using 2 short l shaped wires, one in each hand. as you cross the pipe the 2 wires will draw together and cross.  thus allowing you to follow the pipe back to the spring.
