We have a temporary setup of poultry electric netting around ours, but not high voltage wired- it acts as the earth circuit. Then we have two strands of high voltage set on posts outside at about 9" and 18". We use a 12V Rutland energiser and large leisure batteries- one in use (lasts a month) and one charged ready. Outside those we have decent quality solar garden lights set every 10 metres. So far nothing has made any attempt to get in, but we don't have urban foxes here so it is only energised at night or when we are out.
