Monday 4th August

So today we were hit by Storm Floris. It was a bit wet and very windy – it was weird having gales with the sun shining. And it was warm. Left the sheep in Sheepfold for another week.

Tuesday 5th August

Popped down to North Cotton for a wee catch up.

Wednesday 6th August

Still really windy so I did some Lego. The layout is starting to come together a bit. I had five wee sets come from China, so started to build the boat – not the best kit and work is suspended. Two of the kits were manly for parts. The wee greenhouse set was great and I started the Market Hall.

It was really nice, if windy, so we sat out for a while, with cats and dogs.

Thursday 7th August

Progress on the Market Hall today. Not such good progress on the Gaelic. But I’m trying.

We’re getting to the last of the Opal plums. They have cropped so well and are so delicious. We have some cooked ones for later in the year.

I made shortbread; it was too thick and didn’t cook all the way thorough. Tastes nice though. So I made spiced carrot cake for the Crafternoon / Gaelic groups. It’s a Mary Berry recipe and really lovely. Can’t top it until tomorrow after Dan’s done the  shopping and brought home cream cheese.

Friday 8th August

Made double chocolate chip muffins for the groups. Never made them before but they seem nice and chocolate-y.

Saturday 9th August

Cooler this morning.
