Monday 21st July
Wakened at 5am by torrential rain.
Thursday 24th July
The wallflower have sprouted. I must get a watering can with a rose.
Friday 25th July
I honestly cannot think of anything significant that happened in the last four days. The weather has been slightly cooler, with light cloud and the odd sunny interval.
Today, the vet was here to have a look at Mickey’s teeth. I noticed during the week that he was dropping food when he was eating. Half chewed carrots everywhere. We tried without sedation but he wasn’t having it. At first, Andrea couldn’t see anything other than a few slightly sharp edges, which she dealt with, along with the tartar on his front teeth. Then she thought he was a bit sensitive on his left side; she was doing an examination when a tooth fell out into her hard. Except it looked like it had been out for a while (no blood or anything) and jammed at an odd angle between the two adjacent teeth. Hopefully, he’ll be more comfortable now.
Sleepy Mickey.
The offending tooth.
Saturday 26th July
No chewed up carrots this morning.
Dan was up at 6am; he was going off to play in a walking football tournament in Glasgow. I did the outside chores then took my book and a cup of tea back to bed. Then up showered and out weeding. I weeded all the strawberry bed, which was very satisfying.
Sunday 27th July
Dan pulled a groin muscle yesterday, so he's hirpoling about, groaning. I spent the whole day with my Lego. Braw. Now that we're moved into the old Byre, a new layout is required so ther will be some new building. I thought I should tidy up all the blocks before starting anything new. I am also resolved to finish the sets that are almost complete, but not quite.
The pears look likely to crop well.
Pears.
More pears.
Even more pears.
