Monday 2nd January

Spring cleaned the feed store. With no hens or sheep, it’s emptier than it’s been for years.

Tuesday 3rd January

Tom loves the fire. This isn’t an action shot – he’s been lying like this for ten minutes. Channelling his inner Gwenna.

Wednesday 4th January

I’ve never managed to grow decent leeks before. I put it down to muck tea.

Thursday 5th January

Bronte has started untying herself. I’m not sure she knows she’s done it because she doesn’t go anywhere. Love that face.

Friday 6th January

Gracie and Bronte, chums.

Saturday 7th January

Wet this morning, then the sun came out in time for me to walk the dogs.

BlueskiesLovely afternoon.

Sunday 8th January

Today was designated a polytunnel day. Two years ago, we put a fence round the polytunnel to protect the locked down hens from foxes. Today, Dan took it out. He was cursing at the good job he’d done putting it in.

I washed the inside. Hoping to get the outside done tomorrow then get the wires and the staging up later in the week.

And a photo of Bertie, Tom and Diesel. Penfold was on my lap.
