Monday 28th June
Still warm and dry. Spent some time in the vegetable garden; early peas are ready and delicious and the early tatties (Red Duke of York) are ready. And the Mini Munch cucumber in the polytunnel.
Ace and Rosie looking loved up today, but I haven’t seen her stand for him. Marked 17 days in the diary.
Home produced pork, peas and new potatoes for dinner.
Tuesday 29th June
Overcast in the morning, bit of haar, but the sun came out in the afternoon and it was hot, hot, hot
Vet came in the afternoon and took blood and faeces from Blizzard for another Johne’s test and took blood from the two wee calves for the BVD test. The wee calves and the lambs got their second dose of Bravoxin. I think we’ll put Clik on the sheep at the weekend.
Wednesday 30th June
Overcast this morning.
Robbie got one fox last night. He’s suggested leaving bait out for a few nights to see if it was a single or if there are more.
Moved the thirteen remaining caravan hens into the brown hen house.
Caught these two up to nonsense.
Scoot's lambs, looking for mischief

Found a replacement for Rocky – a young Poland! Thanks, Facebook.
Thursday 1st July
It was a bit of a scorcher today. Met my chum, Carol, for lunch at Balgove Larder and very nice it was too.
Back garden looking quite good.
Polytunnel.
Vegetable garden.
Friday 2nd July
We took delivery of “Rocky 2” today – he’s a Poland and he’s weeny. He looks awful over whelmed. Need to see how he goes. He’s been christened Donald, because when I watched him the song “Donald, where’s yer troosers” came to mind –“I’ve just come doon fae the isle of Skye, I’m no very big and I’m awfy shy”.
Donald.
Saturday 3rd July / Sunday 4th July
We had courses running this weekend; all seemed to go well. Dan found time to start elderflwoer cordial.
Elderflower cordial, from black elderflower, maturing.
Donald has gone "out on loan" to Tara, to grow and mature.
