Smoking
« on: September 11, 2010, 02:52:14 pm »
Chance occurance of me being given two lovely fresh trout and also (by a different person) the loan of a smoker.  So smoked trout is my first try at smoking!

It is a portable "Shakespeare" smoker - very simple to use.  Anybody got any ideas for me to try?  I am quite keen now to buy my own - any recommendations?  I may have to negotiate a "long loan"   :D

You might want to consider building your own smoker .. they are very simple to do and you can set up an arrangement that will do you both cold and hot smoking ..

Smoked trout.... YUM!

Always put a spoonful of brown sugar on top of the wood chips. It makes the trout lovely and golden.
