Lanark Rare Breed sale - anyone going?
« on: August 16, 2010, 09:26:48 pm »
I have just persuaded my other half that I can go to the Lanark sale on Wednesday...
anyone else planning to go?

I am after some Shetland ewes (maybe), but the catalogue doesn't say what colour they are.... so taking the trailer but no idea if it will be a waste of diesel or not...

It's on Thursday, I think.

I was planning to go but trailer otherwise engaged and only a few Coloured Ryeland ewe lambs, so if demand is high, I might have a wasted journey and I just don't have time for that just now.

I'm hoping to go, nothing in the catalouge jumped out at me -apart from the llama and the mini shetlands - but it's supposed to be a pig buying day ;) As long as things aren't too hectic here I'll be the one with the blue buggy and red haired toddler !

I daren't go as I'd come home with all the ponies with no where to put them!

I have enough equines at the moment, need to leave space for other animals next year. I must NOT buy anything this year, must not, must not.........

After starting the thread I will now not be able to go, as I have a lamb in "intensive care" due to flystrike on her (Treated with Vetrazin!) back. It is quite bad as I only saw it when she stopped moving around, her fleece was looking normal. A couple of big holes on her back, but she is still quicker at the feed trough than her healthy sister.... So now "cleaning her out" twice a day, not a job I love! Just hope she pulls through, she is my biggest ewe lamb, meant to stay for breeding!
