lol...sorry Annie.....Slugs or SUGGS as he is really called , is a singer in the group Madness. His real name is Graham McPherson , and the group were mainly active in the 80's. I am sorry for my very sad sense of humour, it is just a silly play on words...but I still think it's funny hahaha......

cheers

Hello, I do not grwo veg but have done and I found I was having a constant battle with loads of other creatures that thought the veg were for them, I now have aome herbs and salad leaves and those slugs munch through loads of stuff, my Hens hate them and only eat tiny slugs so I am disapointed. I hate killing stuff but bite my lip and happily drown the bu#####rs in alcohol (if I have any left) My brother say's we should plant extra for wildlife but they eat whatever yo plant so, it's them or us!!!!!

The b$%^^" have eaten my lovely red strawberries!  I even have gravel round them.  I must get some garlic water going tomorrow. It might just work this time as the weather forecast is better - the last lot got totally watered down, and the beer.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Slugs bring out our EVIL side, I suppose they have a right to life as well but they do get you mad. Ages ago I bought slug pellets but did not use them all as I have a yound dog and they can be deadly for animals, since then I planted some more Chrysant's and they were eaten before I could do anything about them. I now feel likt " The terminator" and happily attack any slugs I find

Sorry to say again but I do not have a problem with slugs up here, maybe it's too cold for them, but have any of you tried the natural bran that I told Blinkers about.  Appently they love it and can't resist it, just put it around you plants, they hate crawling over it but love to eat it.  If you have alot of rain you may need to replace it.  It's natural and not harmful to pets.
I read it in the August edition of Grow your Own magazine.
If anyone tries it could you let me know and what the results are.  It got 9 out of 10 in the mag.

Hi, I've just dug up some very tampled on plants and am going to plant something that is very hardy for ground cover, I have some ideas but also am keen to see if the slug repelant works, my garden is like an inner city playground for slugs, some very big, fat ones too, shame my chickens hate them. I'm sure you will post with the results, I was also told coffee grounds after filter coffe has be made, I get loads of that but still forget about putting around plants, in my kitchen I alrerady have to sort through rubbish to recycle, save bits for my dogs and now for the chickens, soon I will be surrounded by plastic recycling containers.....Oh, I noticed I keep missing letters out of words etc, I know I also spell very badly, I think the rain has leaked into my brain and caused me to miss letters out, CU Sndy
