Looking for pulling harness
« on: July 25, 2010, 01:41:53 pm »
I have a two year old Welsh Mountain/Irish cob, about 13/2hh at the moment, and I'm looking for harness to start him in work (pulling a skid, bracken brashing &c). I'm quite happy to do some repairs if necessary.

I stay in Argyll, (in the rain). I've looked at dragon driving and other driving sites but all that seems to be available are breast harness.

The cheapest place I have seen for work harness is from the states. They are made by the Amish, but I can't find the magazine at the moment if I find it I will post it here. I use a normal breast plate harness for light work, harrowing the sand school and pulling a log trailer etc. The trouble with finding secondhand collars is; too many people think it's quaint to have one hanging on their bl@#dy wall :P

Just found this don't see their prices though  http://horsecollars.com/Harness_Samples.htm
