runners are excellent layers but have very little meat. Saxonys are beautiful and have reasonable carcasses aswell as being reasonable layers. Running water is best for ducks or they will make a mess. Consider Muscovy ducks. They are quieter,cleaner, less obsessed with water, stronger flavoured and bigger.
