Has anyone in France had a cow or a calf killed at an abattoir? I was just wondering what the prices were?

Where in France are you?
My local Abattoir is very reasonable and they charge as per the weight of the cow.
Sorry also should have said it is near Rostreanen.

Hi Carole

In Mayenne department 53.  Spoke to the abattoir yesterday they charge 1.65€ per kilo all pre-packed (as we want to sell some of the meat this is the better option).

The cow is around 380kilos, farmer said his friend would buy it back for the price we paid 700€ but we think we would be better off selling the meat, I think you can even sell the meat to the abattoir.

Have you any experience of this Carole? The cow is a freesian.
