just dropped dead!!
« on: July 09, 2010, 07:46:19 pm »
In two months we have lost two dogs (westie and a Hungarian Wirehaired Viszla)
the Viszla, being this morning just collaped and died, no warning no nothing. went into the kitchen (some 10 mins after speaking to a happy healthy dog) to find her sprawled out on the floor, looking like she had had a stroke/epileptic fit. with in 15mins of finding her, she died, just died.

How unfortunate,  :'(

A friend of mine just lost a Vizzie too - 14 months old.  She was ill, going downhill fast. When they opened her up thinking she'd been eating pebbles they found tears in the gut, but no sign of pebbles or anything else.  Then while on the table the gut ruptured and she died.  So sorry to hear of your Viz, Cameron - how old was she?

How awful!

My heart goes out to you. I can only imagine how you are feeling.

I hate losing dogs!

How old was she? Is there anything in the breed like heart problems? So sad!

she was a good age (11), but she hid it well, everybody thought she was 5/6,

Not bothering with any scans or tests,  burry her, plant a tree, and leave her to rest, no point on intruding on he now

That's a good age for a Viz, Cameron. And she had a good life with you I'll bet.  Still sad though.  I'll miss my old GWP when she goes. even with all her faults.

So sorry Cameron, to lose two dogs in such a short space of time too.

My mum had a little Sheltie, it had heart problems, but was on medication and was fine.  One Sunday my Mum rang to ask if I could go and get Kindy.  Not unusual, as I minded her if mum was off out for the day.  But on this occasion, it was because Kindy needed burying in our field.  Mum had got up, taken Kindy a walk,  she had eaten her breakfast, all fine.  My mum looked round and she was dead in the middle of the kitchen.  It was such a shock her going so fast.  But her heart must have given out, but nice the way she went.

No matter how long you have kept dogs 'nor how many. When you lose one it leaves a huge hole that takes a long time to fill. As usual only time is the healer.
