Let my 2 brama pair out and new something was wrong,the cockeral came out as normal but the hen was very wobbly on her legs she made it to the fence and just flaked out on the floor,she would move flopping over then flapping wings,took her to a neighbour who said she was a waster? didnt want to give up so bought her home syringe feed mix of sugar and water 20mls every hour after the first hour she seemed alot brighter and after the second hour she even stood up seemed to be getting back to normal same for the third hour but now she seems to be back to square one flopping over again now sitting on her own laying on her side.am keeping going with the water do you think she will recover or is it kinder to let her go.

 coccidia and mycoplasma just hard luck try boild egg with mc vitte bisgit broken up then treat  coccid in the water 7 days  .youre other stock might go dawn as well

Sad to report just checked her and shes gone,really upset she was fine last night she was only around pol.

Sorry to hear that piggy. I've got 1 v sick and 2 with the runs again..can't seem to kill whatever the bug is that's killing em off. Really upsetting.

its the right time of the year for the bugs to run amuck. i would get some water solible antibiotic and treat the rest of the flock. once they have had it they are safe. but you will need to watch the new stock that you bring in. watch out when you swith from medicated food to non mediated.

Thanks Paul I treated them all last time but whatever it is keeps coming back. Last sample showed nothing so I'm stumped as is vet.

hopefully its nothing it may have been just a weakness in that hen. it does not help when you try and save them and they still die. at the moment we have an orphan/abandoned gosling just been butted out to make room for a cochin with a very bad case of bumble foot and then in the maternity unit we have a very noisy peafowl.

Poorly hen seems a bit better today. Isolatedher and made certain she ate wormer so maybe she wasn't getting it every month. Used verm x but ordered flubenvet I think that's stronger. Fingers crossed this is the problem maybe the more dominant hens are eating it all and the weaker ones haven't been getting any.
