Dorset smallholder livestock event - 13 September

Dorset Trading Standards has teamed up with a local agricultural merchants, Mole Country Stores and Friars Moor vets to hold a smallholder livestock event at Lymburghs Farm, Marnhull, Dorset. The event is on Wednesday 13th September and will run from 4-8pm. Live demonstrations will be given by vets on animal husbandry for sheep, cattle, pigs and poultry. Trading Standards staff will also give advice on the legislation involved in keeping livestock, animal feed and food production. Other experts will be on hand to give advice such as agronomists, Dorset Police on rural crime prevention, Dorset County farms on how to take the next steps to becoming a full time famer by renting a county farm, Animal and Plant Health Agency and much more.
Tickets must be purchased in advance from the Dorchester, Yeovil, Gillingham, Salisbury or Lymington branches of Mole Country Stores. Tickets cost £10 but can be exchanged on the day for a £10 Mole Country Stores voucher. Anyone attending will also get a pasty and hot drink and a memory stick pre-loaded with guidance notes, useful forms such as movement and medicine records and useful contact numbers.
