I've been chasing small chicks around the garden, we have called one Houdini and one Najinski, one can escape and one can escape and run like the wind. The weather up here in the north east of Scotland has been alot better than the rest of the country. I have been busy strimming weeds and weed killing the area which hopefully next year will be my wild flower meadow. It covers about 350 sq yards, a fair area to strim & weedkill.
We have also had an opportunity for some free fire wood for the winter so we have been on pallet runs at the weekend which took most of Sunday, we still have some more to collect.
I have harvested my potatoes, and we are now eating peas, broad beans and courgettes. My chard is just about finished and this morning I have pulled 2 parsnips for dinner this evening. I have also taken fuschia cuttings for next year, I still have some more to do and have potted all my strawberry runners.
We had some visitors last week for 3 days, some one I had not seen for about 18 years and it was lovely to catch up with him and his new lady. We got stuck talking about family history and tracing it, which next to gardening is my next favourite pastime, so I have been searching into his family history for him. I was hoping to do Genealogy as an occupation when we moved up here, but no takers so far.
