Large Black Pigs
« on: July 12, 2017, 03:49:51 pm »
We have recently purchased a couple of Large black gilts and have now received their pedigrees from the BPA.

Please could someone explain the 2 numbers in brackets after the pedigree name mean?
On the BPA website it heads them as the "Fecundity" which is the production of large numbers etc?

We have two pedigree sisters from different litters but the numbers after their names are (7-7) and (8-6) but they have the same parentage?

Thank you in anticipation.

The first sow had 7 and reared 7. The second had 8 and reared 6.
