In the next few weeks reluctantly I'm having to move my sows onto concrete in my new rented land as landlord doesn't want the pigs on the pasture. There are 4 concrete pads which are 70x40ft which I've fenced for them.

My question is what are the different things I'll do to do for the pigs an there piglets

A few people have already told me are piglets will need iron jabs? Give the sows some rough in there diet such as hay or haylage.

They still have the sun on there back so I don't feel as bad but land in north wales is hard to get for rent! Especially for pigs

I don't inject iron but throw in sods which they love and they will get iron from the soil. Plenty of bedding. They will eat straw for roughage too. They will love weeds and grass cuttings if you have any.


Oh and I'm afraid you will need to muck out!

Yes the mucking out is gonna be the fun part isn't it! Least I've have good fertiliser for the garden ?

I collect buckets of molehill soil - not contaminated by sheep muck and dead vegetation.
