I wanted to buy a small bag of grass seed to repair poached areas of our fields around gateways, feeders etc. However, the smallest quantity I could get was an acre's worth!

So, would anybody like to help me share the cost?

It's a permanent pasture mix, including a variety of diploid ryegrasses, timothy and white clover. According to the blurb, it's good for giving dense ground cover to reduce poaching, and is suitable for sheep, cattle, hay and haylage.

It's on a first-come, first-served basis, priced at £10/kg including postage. By my calculations, 1kg is enough to re-seed an area of 17m x 17m.

Payment is via bank transfer or Paypal "send money to friends & family", and a receipt will be provided. Please reply below so I know who has first dibs, and then PM me for payment details  .

I would ask, but.... well.... erm..... I would need acres upon acres of the stuff     Would it be possible to let me know where you got it from? I would like to see if they sell any other varieties (IE mixes, leys, etc, etc).

Wish we'd spotted this earlier!  We bought a sack of this very mix, I think, which we'd planned to sow before it rained.  No rain...  (Don't like to complain.  But...). Now we're not sure whether to sow it or not; the bulk of the field is starting to grow nicely, it's just the area along the fence, gate and trough that are still bare.

We'd been a bit disappointed that we couldn't get something with more other varieties in, and I'd been researching what we might add to it.  I found Cotswold Grass Seeds Direct, where you can buy any seed they do in 1kg upwards.  I will certainly look there first another time, but in this case, as it's now only the high traffic areas we'd want to do, the 86% rye grass is probably the right one to use.
