Yay shearing done
« on: June 26, 2010, 10:40:16 am »
Our girls had theyre new haircuts yesterday and the shearer was very impressed with theyre condition and said what a lovely bunch of lambs we ve got :)  So gold star for us, very very happy.   Barring one flystrike ewe that we treated a few weeks ago we had not one other with it, so ever so pleased about that  ;D  marked up a group of lambs for market and one or two cull ewes and the rest are ready to rock n roll :)   Now to get some new rams in :)

What a successful day and apparently this year our fleeces should be able to pay for the shearing  :D

Good for you Hellybee!  What kind of sheep do you have?

Theyre are a mixedbunch, mostly texelx lleyn but then theres some welsh mountain blood and some other random black and brown faced ewes, they are a good bunch though, come to the bucket and are reasonably sane, with one or two showjumpers lol :) including last years ewe lambs we have 47.

we had a n awful lot of ram lambs, and have 16 girls to keep back.  Better really so we can slowly make the flock bigger.  :)
