Wish the planning inspectorate in England saw things the same  way. We have an enforcement appeal in at the moment and have fingers crossed.

I'm sorry but I read these things and and it feels me with dread. It seems that everyone who gets a piece of land then needs a caravan on it.


Interesting that horses were seen as agricultural because that is not how they are generally classed, for rates for example. And I wouldn't call a caravan secure either.

In actual fact for planning purposes there are 6 different categories of reasons for keeping a horse.
Where the horse is on land solely for the purpose of grazing the grass then that is classed as agricultural because grazing animals is an agricultural operation.
Where the horse is "kept" on the land, ie additional feed is brought in, then that is another category and planning may be required for any stables used or for change of use.
