I finally got around to finishing off the lamb warming box I made last year (if this isn't redneck engineering chic, I don't know what is!  ):





It has an electric fan heater and a thermostatic temperature control. However, does anybody know what temperature I should set the controller to?

About 37c  normal temp for a lamb is 39-40c

That looks awesome .  Is it an upside down meat crate with a caravan window over the top?

Don't be silly, DartmoorLiz. It's a bespoke upcycled lamb warmer.  Any similarity to a wooden box with an old caravan window slapped on top is purely coincidental!   

The clever bit (IMHO) is that the plastic crate allows the air to come up underneath and around the lambs, rather than blowing down on top of them. There are more details here if you're interested.
