It's been a bad day here in west Cumbria, 12 innocent people shot dead and many more injured. One of the dead lived on a local farm and seemed to be getting it going as a nice smallholding. Such a shame.

Very very sad    the fragility of the human mind and what it can do - frightening and sad.
It must have been a scary day for you Chriso? how are you feeling?

A very sad day indeed and our sympathy to all the people involved But the chap that did it surely must have had a brain storm poor man.It must be absolutely terrible when one comes round and realises what you have done.No doubt it will all be revealed at the inquest.So very very sad for  all concerned.Think what the man's relatives must feel.

Just goes to show anything can happen at anytime and we should all make the best of every day. Such a shame that life drove someone to do such a horrible act

What happened is absolutely dreadful.  It must have been a terrifying experience for those people living in Whitehaven and surrounding areas.
Its obvious that this mans mind had gone, for whatever reason.  That does not excuse what he has done in any way, but it sounds like he was not the sort of person to go off on a shooting spree.

It seems a family feud over a will may have been the cause.  Being in the same position myself, I can identify the frustration he must have been feeling.  Although I hasten to add that I have certainly not contemplated taking action on the other parties involved.

I often say, and this goes to prove, that you do not know when you leave home, what may happen.  Thats why I aim to live life to the full, each and every day.

It is truely terrible and terrifiying all at the same time.
And I agree with Roxy, live each day to the fullest, don't sweat the small stuff and thank your lucky stars for what you've got - we never know what's round the corner.

It was quite scary as was out cycling and had past his house and that of his brother before they found him. Like I say I was out cycling when I heard he was in my village and I had left the kids home alone - Very scary and quite a rush to get home.

Such a shame for everyone in Cumbria that someone can go round and indiscrimantly kill people going about their day to day, unfortunately we will never know what drove this man to go and such a devastating rampage. The ripple effect on that community will not heal for generations and i think we are all at a loss as to what they must be feeling.

You don't realise how luck I was, I think if he had seen me he would have shot me as he always stared or sometimes drove too close and I used to give him a wave with either one finger or two depending how I felt.

As I see it You never know do you.What sets these people off.They are as right as rain then wooof They become mentally deranged.We had several of them in SLDD at the Institute when I helped out.Nothing like as bad as this one but my word they certainly can cause some disruption among the others.
