Ive got 9 ducks that I'm keeping in a large ish area 500m2 but I'm having trouble as the ducks are laying their eggs where they fancy and I'm loosing quite a few to crows, Does anyone have any ideas how i could get them to lay in their house?

I keep mine in till after 10am.  i was told that ducks lay before that time - but no idea why......................

Hi

I'm the same as annie, our ducks are the last ones out in the morning, but we still have an odd one layed outside it is just a matter of getting to them before anyone else does.

Mine leave the house around 9.30 and I do get most of them. I try to discourage broodiness but some are stubborn and it is Easter here at least twice a week and we have to go hunting. One is very reliable where she puts her egg as she is in love with a giant marble egg I have put in her nest from last year... I also put a few ceramic eggs about but the ducks are not fooled by those, I think they are too lightweight  :&>

Enjoyed my day at Gundog Breeds Show - Allez Best of Breed, Bobby Best Puppy and Reserve Best of Breed, Liz's cocker puppy Heyla was 2nd in her breed puppy class and 1st in Any variety minor puppy - so a good day.  Some nice Labs tehre too - not the usual fat squabby show ones, a little longer in leg.
