Fluke seminar
« on: September 14, 2016, 10:15:49 am »
Many thanks [member=24086]CarolineR[/member] for the excellent Webinar last night. I learnt a lot and whilst happily in a fluke low risk zone will be chatting to the Vet today as to whether my new quarantined goats should be treated.

I hope you didn't lose anyone in the few minutes it took to set up the Webinar. I've used the technology regularly in work and they always take 10 mins or so to get started. I hope SAC get the Scottish Government support to do more. I would be interested in accreditation  (MV CAE) or worming as topics, nutrition.

I posted here because I am sure other forum members would find the presentations interesting.

My IT didn't work - I was logged in from about 7:15pm and at 7:50pm still had the intro screen so gave up and logged off. Gutted as I was really looking forward to the talk  :(

totally agree, thanks for a great webinar Caroline.

Fluke meds will be checked, flock plan updated and trenches will be dug in the wettest of fields... so thats my weekend sorted!

silkwoodzwartbles - I think Caroline said we'd be sent a link to download a recording of the webinar and/or the slide pack?  Hopefully you'll be able to catch up on last nights discussion that way.

Any chance that link / pack might be available to the rest of us?  I for one would have loved to be able to attend last night, but just couldn't.

We had a violent storm, lightning and thunder all round, normally find them exciting but this was really scary,  I had to shut everything down, in case of lightning.
So if there is a link I'd be interested as well, haven't had a reply from Caroline after requesting same.

I was registered but had to deregister when I had to go and emergency babysit for a neighbour.  I would love to be able to listen/watch a recording.

Hi everyone, sorry, I had a bit of a hectic day yesterday and I didn't get near a computer!

[member=10673]SallyintNorth[/member]  and [member=75709]Buttermilk[/member] , if you want to send me your email addresses I can see if I can sort out copies of handouts and recording in the next couple of weeks? Feel free just to register and leave your registration up on any future ones, I will have more capacity and it will automatically send you the stuff afterwards without you asking!  [email protected]

[member=30154]pharnorth[/member] , thanks for the thread, and thank you too everyone for your kind words. The next one will be on the way in a few weeks hopefully. I think we only lost [member=159653]silkwoodzwartbles[/member], I am sorry for that, I'm not sure what happened there but you will hopefully receive copies too, although if you want to email me to make sure that's fine too.

[member=22672]penninehillbilly[/member] I've replied to your email, thank you so very much for getting in touch and sorry for the delay. Half the week I do as "duty vet" which often means I don't really get near a computer, too busy with people and animals, and half the week I am "off duty" which really just means I am developing courses for farmers and smallholders and dealing with disease surveillance work in farm animals and wildlife and so on (not that "off", really, since still working!) So I'm sometimes a bit of a slowpoke when it comes to non-urgent queries.  :)

Recordings and handouts will hopefully be sent out within a week, but it is the smallholder festival coming up and also I just started a Master's in International Animal Health so please forgive me if just this first one is a few days later. Future webinars will all be a bit quicker off the mark, thank you very, very much all for being my lovely "guinea pigs" for the first ever webinar!
Have a great week,

C
